Well, this plant is called Bloodroot. I planted it 2 years ago and this Spring is the first time it has come up! It's a woodland plant found from Florida to Canada. The flowers appear in early Spring and last until some time in April. The leaves come next and last the rest of the year. The root color ranges from orange to red hence the name of the plant, Bloodroot.
Just a little chronicle from a Master Gardener of what's going on with with gardening at home in my yard, around my community and beyond.
Thanks for checking in and enjoy!
